Hillsborough

HillsboroughHillsborough is an incorporated town in San Mateo County and is known to be one of the wealthiest communities in America. In fact, Hillsborough has the highest income of places in the United States with populations of at least 10,000. The town has no commercial zoning and thus no businesses within the town limits; the only non-residential properties are the town's four public and three private schools, town and county government facilities, a golf course, a country club, and a park. Fortunately for residents, the surrounding cities offer tons of shops and restaurants just outside the town’s borders. The public school system in Hillsborough is amongst California’s finest, with an excellent faculty to student ratio and a successful technology program. Should you be in town during the month of August, we suggest you plan to stay for the Concours d’Elegance. This luxury car show brings car collectors and classic car lovers together for the annual car show on the local golf course!

As you roam the community, you’ll notice much of Hillsborough is adorned with multi-million dollar estates. These luxury estates offer a fine balance of subtlety and comfort. Large homes provide homeowners and their families with much accommodation. Additionally, many residents of Hillsborough are drawn to the privacy that comes with these estates. Often tucked behind property walls and fences are brilliant homes that provide a touch of seclusion without feeling isolated. To learn about the aesthetics of Hillsborough neighborhoods, one simply has to walk down the street. You’ll notice roads devoid of sidewalks and a quaint “woodsy” feel throughout.
